Hi, I’m Fi

A little about me?

I am a creative/digital media student who is passionate about Photography and all aspects of the creative media industry. Photography has always been a part of my life, even from a young age when I didn’t make sense of the purpose of photography. I was always taking photos and would never be seen without my phone.

Nowadays who is? Aha

My slogan is ‘Capturing what others don’t see’. This originated from people telling me I have a good eye for things/detail. Anyone can look into the world and see what’s in front of them but its the perspective of the individual and the detail they pay attention to that stands out.

My inspiration is Elliott Erwitt who stated ‘To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

‘Beauty attracts the eye but personality captures the heart’

My Story

I live in the Cotswolds, which I am very fortunate about as I have had endless beautiful opportunities of moments/landscapes to capture throughout the years of living there. I’ve been able to capture all the beautiful changes within seasons and experience some unforgettable moments.

Before the image above was taken (during Covid) I was going through a tough time like everyone else was during the pandemic. All the small things about life were heightened, hope was fading the stress was pilling. I also at the time was studying Sport Therapy which i enjoyed but was finding challenging and was struggling a lot with the exams. I felt overwhelmed and that day had stayed in bed all day crying.

I decided to get out in the evening around 7pm and go to a place where I knew had great views for the sunset to go down (near Snowshill). I drove my car and came across 2 horses just grazing contently, which filled me with peace. The field that I always parked in to watch the sun go down was occupied by someone else so I parked at the nearest lay by and got out of my car to take a photo of the sunset but was greeted by this beautiful horse. Even the simplest thing of stroking this horse filled me with happiness and joy. I got out my phone to take a photo and the picture just came together.

This photo is the highlight of my COVID/photography experience because throughout all the stress and all the despair in the world I found beauty in a beautiful moment, a beautiful capture that I will never forget.

Photos allow us to feel what we felt in that moment. I don’t need an image to remember certain moments. But, for me its that emotions are there to help spark existence into something chaotic and beautiful, which is what my photos are about.
